Haven't even gotten my gear yet and I love these guys already. I have this shoot coming up this weekend, very important (aren't they all?) and I had a set of hard to find, in-demand lenses confirmed. Then, the shoot got changed and I had to cancel with five days to go. They were suuuuper cool about it, very understanding. Then, the shoot was back on and I scrambled, got ahold of them again and, like before, they were very cool, "No problem," and got me the package again.

I emailed from their website. After 2 days of no response I called. When I advised the girl who answered about my online inquiry , she was adamant they always respond and even asked if emailed the right email address (I have no clue how I couldn't from their website). She didn't want to help me over the phone, and that was fine because her attitude was so crap, I didnt even wanna go there. I told her I had the confirmation email even from THEIR site. So instead of providing me customer service she told me forward that to them and they'll respond.
First off, I'm not in lighting. So as a person who was in need of renting lights for a teenagers birthday party, to get an email talking about 2500 deposit or 10000 in insurance policy, etc. for a light kit I found at several other places for $80 a day and not all this drama and tension. Glad she turned me off with her rude ass.
Now.. the way life works.. I do work in the entertainment business for one of the largest networks. I will be sure to pass word to never mention this place around our offices for any productions or side projects.

We had a big order of equipment from Stray Angel. They were very nice and their equipment was kept in good quality, but they didn't have all the equipment we asked for when we went to pick it up and changed some of the equipment like the tripods, without asking us if it was okay. That was disappointing.

I came to rent a few cameras here for a commercial shoot. The team was great! They helped me through every step of the process. Will be back next time I'm in need of film equipment.

Always use Stray Angel for my production rental needs and always satisfied with the gear and the service. They work with me to find the best solutions for what the production requires and are flexible and accommodating at every turn. I've never used anyone else, because I've never had a reason to look elsewhere. Love the guys there - very knowledgable and helpful. Definitely give Stray Angel a try and you won't be disappointed.

After reading the reviews below, I must have called on an off-day -- no hoops were jumped through, no one was friendly, and felt like I was annoying the agent I dealt with by daring to call rather than just email. Was looking for a west side rental house, but got little support. Just wanted to see if they had some things in stock and ask some general equipment questions, but was told (brusquely) to just send an email and someone would get back to me quickly. I understand people are busy (come on, we're all busy), but giving a new customer little to no support over the phone, for maybe 3-minutes max, is lame. Next.

This is a small business at it's best: experts at what they do, friendly, affordable, and willing to go the extra mile to make a customer happy.

I've rented from them on numerous occasions, from cameras, to lenses, to tripods, to sliders, to batteries. In every case, they've delivered what I asked for, at a great price.

On one occasion, I rented at 5DII for a fashion shoot, and upon arriving at the shoot, the hot shoe on the camera stopped working, and wouldn't fire my remote strobes. Without the camera, I would have been in bad shape. I called Billy at Stray Angel, and when we couldn't troubleshoot the problem, he couriered another camera body to me asap. The shoot went off without a hitch, the client went home happy.

Full disclosure: this place is two blocks from my house and there isn't much competition in the neighborhood.

That being said, I would happily drive a distance to keep their business. The staff at Stray Angel are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and most importantly cater to the indie community.

They know budgets are tight, and they are there to help you hit those numbers.

A friend found them online and when we realized that they were so close to my house with very fair rental prices, I hoped we had found a winner.

Needless to say, they met and exceeded my expectations.

They also offer weekly workshops if you are interested in learning something new!

Used these guys for years. Always been impressed by their willingness to educate and their friendly way of handling most situations. Happy to use them whenever my company has a project.

Stray Angel has always provided excellent service for whatever rental needs we have had. My studio is in orange county, but prefer to make the drive to Stray Angel rather
than rent nearby. Very helpful, professional, knowledgeable, and economical. A rental house with soul.

These guys are the most knowledgeable and helpful people I've come across in the business in a long time. They were able to help me and my director improvise on the spot, and cut down our order - and were super understanding when I had to return some equipment late. We are an east-coast based outfit, so to plan everything in the east and then have it all ready and perfect when we got to the west was amazing and was totally thanks to these guys. USE THESE GUYS.
